Carsharing has arrived in Downtown St. Louis with WeCar. Enterprise Rent-A-Car with the help of downtown partners including Citizens for Modern Transit, the Syndicate, Loftworks, the Lawrence Group, Pyramid-Spinnaker and the Downtown St. Louis Improvement District, has launched WeCar, a car sharing service, in St. Louis.

CMT Executive Director Tom Shrout, Tony Moise, vice-president and general manager with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Mayor Francis Slay at the WeCar kick-off on Feb. 12.

"Car sharing is a great option for transit commuters - bus or train- for work-related or personal errands during the day. We hear all the time that I can't take MetroLink to work because I have meetings during the day - now here is the solution. I personally have been using the WeCAr system since its start on Feb. 12 with great success. Going online, reserving the car of my choice, going to the car, using my WeCar fob key to open the doors and off I go. It is a proactive step for St. Louis, and we are happy to partner with Enterprise to offer this option to commuters," said Thomas Shrout, CMT executive director.

This convenient, environmentally friendly transportation alternative is available at nine downtown locations:

• 10th & Washington, on 10th Northeast corner, 1st Parking Space
• 6th and Olive, on 6th southeast corner, 1st parking space
• Olive and Broadway, on Olive Northeast corner, 1st parking space
• 9th and Olive, on 9th southeast corner, 1st parking space
• Pine and 8th, on Pine southeast corner, by 8th and Pine Metro Stop
• 7th and Market, on 7th northeast corner, 1st parking space in front of Kiener Plaza
• Broadway and Chestnut, on Broadway northeast corner, 1st parking space
• Chestnut and 8th, on Chestnut southeast corner, 2nd parking space
• 10th and Olive, on 10th southeast corner, 1st parking space
